Abstract
The research study was taken to investigate the organizational climate and job satisfaction of teacher teachers. The sample of 120 Teacher educators from Mysuru was selected to adopting Stratified random sampling technique. Considering the independent variable namely Gender, Length of experience, and type of colleges the stratification was made. Organizational Climate was assessed with the help of Organizational climate Scale constructed by the Motilal Sharma (1978). Teacher educators Job Satisfaction was assessed using Job Satisfaction Scale standardized by Y. Mugal, I.S Muhar and Bhatiya (1991). Specific objectives formulated were: 1. To assess the level of Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction of teacher educators. 2. To find whether there is any significant difference between teacher educators belonging to Government, Private aided and Private un aided colleges with respect to their Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction. 3. To find whether there is any significant difference between male and female teacher educator’s with respect to Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction. 4. To find whether there is any significant difference between high and low experienced teacher educator’s with respect to Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction. 5. To find whether there is any significant relationship between Organizational Climate and Job Satisfaction of teacher educators. The descriptive survey method was adopted for the study. The data, which was obtained from that survey, was analyzing using percentage analysis, t-test and one-way ANOVA. Findings of the study were: 1. A majority (75%) of the teacher educators in Mysore was found to possess a healthy organizational climate and (0.7%) were found to possess unhealthy organizational climate. Only (25.1%) of the teacher educators possessed average level of organizational climate. 2. A majority (67.8%) of teacher educators had average level of Job satisfaction and (9%) were found to have low level of Job Satisfaction. Only (33.5%) of the teacher educators had high level of Job Satisfaction. 3. There is no significant difference was found between government, private aided and private unaided college teacher educators in relation to their Organizational climate. 4. There is a significant difference was found between government, private aided and private unaided college teacher educators in relation to their Job Satisfaction. Compare the mean value of teacher educators of all these colleges it is found that the aided college’s teacher educators have more satisfied with their job than their counter parts of government and private colleges. 5. There is no significant difference was found in Organizational climate and job satisfaction of male and female teacher educators. 6. There is no significant difference was found in Organizational climate and job satisfaction of above five years and below five years of experienced teacher educators. 7. Negligible positive relationship was found between organizational climate and Job Satisfaction of teacher educators.
