CURIOSITY AS A CORRELATE OF INTERNET USAGE AMONG CLASS XI STUDENTS By Ms. Poonam Bharti and Dr. Anurag Sankhian

Abstract

Information technology is the mainstay of today’s world. Internet has become a part and parcel of learners at every stage of their lives. Significant development, affordability and connectivity had made internet accessible to all. Majority of teenagers have access to internet be it school or home. The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between curiosity and Internet usage among class XIth students. The random sample comprised of 100 students studying in the class XIth of the government and private senior secondary schools of Chandigarh. The study was conducted by using tools; Children’s Curiosity scale developed by Dr Rajiv Kumar and Questionnaire on Internet usage prepared by the investigator. The findings revealed that significant difference between the mean scores of children’s curiosity of class XIth students of government and private schools and significant positive correlation between curiosity and internet usage among class XI students exists.
