HUMAN RIGHTS AWARENESS AMONG TRIBAL AND NON-TRIBAL SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS By Dr. Sangeeta K Barwal[1]

Abstract

The present study was conducted to compare the human rights awareness among the tribal and non-tribal senior secondary school students. For this purpose, 200 secondary school students were selected from five senior secondary schools of district Kinnaur and Mandi of Himachal Pradesh. The present study made use of the tool for data collection under the title “Human Rights Awareness Test for school students”, developed and standardized by Rakesh Kumar and ‘t’ test was used to analyze the data. It was found that there exist significant difference between tribal and non-tribal, tribal science and tribal arts and non-tribal science and non-tribal arts senior secondary school students towards human rights awareness. There was no difference in human rights awareness between tribal boys and tribal girls and non-tribal boys and non-tribal girls at senior secondary level. There exist significant difference in human rights awareness among tribal science and tribal arts and non-tribal science and non-tribal arts senior secondary school students.
