A STUDY ON EDUCATIONAL PROBLEMS OF TRIBAL CHILDREN By Pushpa M.[1]

 

Abstract

Education was perceived as crucial instrument of change. Expansion and democratization of the education system was sought, the two primary egalitarian goals of which were the universalisation of elementary education and the educational “upliftment” of disadvantaged groups. Schedule tribe is one of the disadvantaged group, the educational standard has to be improved. The government is facing challenges in achieving this goal. The educational problems of tribal are one of the challenges in achieving this goal. Hence the present study made an attempt to know about the educational problems of the tribal children which is checking their improvement. The study revealed that the poverty, illiteracy, unawareness and negative attitude of parental community and some school factors are constraints to the education of the tribal children.
