A COMPARISON OF MOTOR ABILITY AMONG DISTRICT LEVEL WOMEN FOOTBALL, CRICKET AND KABADDI PLAYERS By Biswajit Malakar

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study was to measure and compare motor ability (power, agility, and strength) among district level women football, cricket and kabaddi players. For this study 30 women football players, 30 women cricketers & 30 women kabaddi players were selected as subjects from different districts (Nadia, North 24 pargana, South 24 pargana, Hooghly) .The age range of the subjects was 18-25 years. The motor abilities were explosive strength, coordination, agility & also speed. The motor abilities were measured by standing broad jump, zig zag run & medicine ball put. Analysis of the data using mean, standard deviation, ANOVA &‘t’ test shows that the standing broad jumping ability was significantly higher than cricket and kabaddi players. There was no significance difference between women cricket & women kabaddi players. The zig zag running ability of the women football players was higher, science lower the time betters the performance than the women cricket & women kabaddi players. In case of medicine ball putting ability there was no significant differences.
